Oh What A Day

It was the day that history had longed for
It was the day that split time in two
And as the star hung over the stable
It shone for Emmanuel

It was the day when Shepherds went searching
It was the day when wise men bowed down
All eyes were fixed on Jesus the baby
His name was Emmanuel

Oh what a day! When Jesus came.
God with us in our darkness.
Oh what a day! Glorious day!
God came into our world
Oh what a day!

It was the day that God sent a Saviour
It was the start of His masterplan
And as the angels shone round the manger
They sang for Emmanuel

We sing today because of Lord Jesus
We gather here because he was born
We celebrate the start of God’s victory
It began with Emmanuel
