Story Behind the Song
This song was penned for the Christmas season at our home church St Paul’s Hammersmith. A songwriting session between Nick and one of our producers Dan Weeks led to the melody and structure of this entire song. Becky then took the lead on the lyrics and the song was finished in a matter of weeks. We performed the song for the first time live to over 1000 people at our Carol Services in late December. Accompanied by a full choir and orchestra, it was a spine-tingling occasion and we knew that we couldn’t wait to record it. With an element of suspense, it tells the Christmas story with a fresh feel and renewed power. A relatively simple tune ensures that all ages can enjoy it.
